25th birthday experience ✨
Have you ever stayed in a treehouse?! When I first heard of this, I was intrigued to find out more! I’ve stayed in Glamp Tents {basically glamorous tents for camping} but, never thought of treehouses! As I did more research, I came across BoltFarm Treehouse in South Carolina. Now, if you know me I not only love to travel but, I’m totally a chick who LOVES her birthday, I’m talking whole birthday month, let’s do something crazy and fun type deal. So when I saw BoltFarm on Airbnb I knew immediately I needed to find a way to go.
Outdoor showers, pizza ovens, swinging beds, magic in the woods, relaxation, all these pictures were popping up and the aesthetic was just breathtaking. These treehouses are so popular that they release dates every month or so to give a chance for everyone to book. I immediately jumped on the first date available which was January because I knew either way I was staying there! My birthday is in February so I decided to email them with hopes they would open up dates for my birthday, and what do you know, they did!! I was beyond excited to know that for my 25th I’d be exploring soon enough.
The farm in Charleston, SC holds three different treehouses, which are all so different! We stayed at The Wildflower, which had a bohemian feel to it and was tucked away at the end of the dirt road, away from the outside world. This was my first time to Charleston. As we were driving from the airport to this magical place, the streets were lined with gorgeous trees draping over you, making you feel like somewhere out of a fairytale book. When you arrive to the farm there’s a beautiful black gate that opens up, with trees carved into it. You travel down along this dirt path with over 30 acres of land, all untouched and beautiful. As we pulled up to our treehouse, we walked along a path that brought us to a place you must only see in person to experience. Filled with huge windows to let the sunshine in and gaze out at night to watch the stars, I can’t make this up babes! There was the hanging bed outside under twinkle lights, a gorgeous swing out on the deck, a place to enjoy your dinner and an amazing outdoor shower that I wish I could only bring back home to Boston!
Upon entering the treehouse, there’s a tulum style canopy hanging from your bed with a dreamcatcher. Another seating area for eating, looking out into the woods, or just playing one of the many board games they leave for you. A record player sits next to you to listen to some good ol’ oldies, disconnect from our Spotify and Netflix, as there is no TV there {didn’t miss it at all}! A kitchenette area is equipped with a classic gold tea kettle perfect for making coffee using a French press, and a stove top for all those delicious breakfasts in the morning. That was one of my favorites, being able to listen to the record player while enjoying breakfast with the birds, calmness and connecting with my husband. I think it’s those little things we forget about when we are in our busy everyday lives.
When deciding to be outdoors, there’s endless possibilities, you can make a pizza with the pizza oven on the deck, how cool is that! You can sip Champagne from the swing while looking up at the cotton candy skies. Under the twinkle lights, you can choose to nap on the swinging bed or read a good book. What‘s being outdoors if you don’t roast a marshmallow and make some s’mores around the fire pit! The animals there were just an added bonus, bunnies, birds, deer, the water you’re surrounded by. Don‘t get me started on the dreamy outdoor shower, whether you’re with the birds chirping in the morning or with the stars at night, I never wanted to shut that water off.
There are paths to walk around on the property and explore. The most important takeaway here is about disconnecting. Shut your phone off, step away from social media, learn how to communicate with your partner, and find ways to enjoy the little things in life! I felt so refreshed when I got back home it was crazy. Stepping away from my phone, unless I was taking pictures of course, felt so relaxing to just not worry about who was posting what or what times I should be uploading something. New perspective on life, another year on this earth, another chance at doing what is right for me. I preach all the time, spread positivity and cut out anyone or anything that negatively impacts your life. You only get one chance babe so make it count. Here’s to another 25 years of life to see where it takes me!
Happy Birthday month to all my February babes! We live to love life 🖤
Stay tuned for all all the amazing places I checked out in Charleston!
